McDonalds and it’s Supplier OSI Group Are Going Meatless

Written by on November 28, 2019

McDonalds meat supplier for over 60 years, OSI Group will be going into a partnership with Impossible Foods, a plant-based company. The main reason for this promising partnership between these two companies Is the fact that Impossible Foods has been having a problem with its production in the form of a food shortage. Ever since April of this year, the Impossible Foods company has been unable to keep up with customers’ demand for its Impossible Burger. This shortage is in spite of the fact that big restaurant chains like White Castle and Burger King are already doing business with Impossible Foods.

After careful thought, Impossible Foods decided the best thing they could do was to enter a manufacturing agreement with a company that has been producing foods for a while to raise the supply of meatless burgers. One of the largest food producers in the world is the OSI Group McDonalds, and there is now a new agreement that the Impossible Burger will begin being produced now in an OSI Midwest plant location. Chicago is located in the Midwest and a McDonalds based in Chicago has stated that it is going to test this plant-based burger because the customers really seem to have a rising interest in the entire industry of plant-based meats. This well known company has also stated that it is still in learning mode with this meatless burger known as the P.L.T. (plant, lettuce, tomato) burger and that it will test out the results and sales before it becomes available everywhere.

The Impossible Burger itself is already selling in 10,000 restaurants all over the world and the trend of plant-based proteins is on a steady and constant rise as people are recognizing the benefits of eating less meat. Impossible Foods had intended to fix their shortage problem without outside help; however, they began to see the advatages of involving a partner with expertise, and that is when they decided to contact OSI Group. The OSI Group has over 60 manufacturing plants in several countries with a high potential to save Impossible Foods from the situation it is facing right now.
