Health Carousel Provides Tailored Care

Health Carousel, one of the most trusted names in long-term care, remains committed to nursing education by awarding scholarships to future nurses through its “Nurses Educated Nurses Cared For” program.

The scholarships are available for nursing students at a college or university in Illinois or Indiana who meet specific criteria and show potential as a nurse.

Health Carousel knows that the company must support nursing education efforts today to ensure there is always an adequate number of qualified nurses for tomorrow’s healthcare needs.

“Health Carousel has given us significant support as we go about our goal to educate the best and brightest nurses that we can,” explains Dean Susan Starrett, Associate Dean of Administrative Affairs at Lewis University. “Because of their help, students are getting hands-on experience in hospital settings that are vital to their education.”

Since the program began two years ago, Health Carousel has awarded scholarships to 26 students. Each year, they award approximately $2,000 to a student in the program’s seven participating schools.

This year’s recipients study nursing at Assumption College in Worcester; Concordia University in Aurora; Lewis University (one student); Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais; St. Xavier University in Chicago; and Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights.

The awards are made through the Lewis University Nursing Department and benefit students from various programs, including all LPN-RN tracks, the post-master’s nursing program, and bachelor’s degree programs.
