It was in 1995 that Sudhir first joined the teams at Adidas AG and Taj Hotels & Resorts. He established four wildly successful resorts in India’s tourist hotspots. In addition, he began making substantial investments in Air Deccan in 2003, enabling it to blossom into India’s preeminent low-cost air carrier within five years.

Becoming a Philanthropist

After his heart transplant in 1999, Mr. Choudhrie vowed to help heart donors and recipients find a better quality of life in India and worldwide. In 2010, Sudhir and their family founded a charitable organization to help recipients of heart transplants. Among his other charitable endeavors, Sudhir Choudhrie endowed a professorship in cardiology at Columbia University Medical Center.
